Outsourcing is about contracting an outside, professionally competent service provider to perform a task that would otherwise be performed internally by a company. Organizations can achieve maximum efficiency when they can focus on their core activities. In order to be productive, they need a modern, reliable basic IT environment, and specialized systems, applications based on it. An unexpected failure of such systems can cause substantial financial loss, not to mention the loss of data. The development and running of a well-operating, reliable and functionally efficient IT system can be very demanding on internal resources, and usually at the expense of the core activities, therefore it is generally worth outsourcing, leaving it to outside professionals.
